So we went for a weekend away in Edinburgh to stay with our friends who I fondly call The Puddleducks. Ra-Ra hadn’t ever left the country so I had organised awhile back to stay with them. Most people wouldn’t class a mini holiday in Scotland leaving the country but it is still a separate country here. Read more
I had my first night away with a friend since my surgery on bank holiday Monday. I met Stacy via Fit Girls Guide on Instagram around Christmas 2014. Since then I feel like we have grown closer and closer. Hell there was never any taboo with poo if I needed to talk to someone about issues most people shy away from, she was there. In fact I think she once said “Hey! Everyone poops!” Read more
First things first, yesterday I saw my stoma nurse and she put some silver nitrate on the granulomas so hopefully that’s that! Today we met up with 00Steve’s best mate/brother Chappie and his girlfriend Magz. We went off towards Thirsk and for a wander up to the White Horse, Magz being from Durham had no idea it existed. I wanted to show Ra-Ra the planes and gliders, part of me wanted to show off to her because a few years ago 00Steve paid for me to have a glider lesson. (I love planes ha ha when I was 16 and 17 I did aerobatic flying lessons) Read more
So I’ve been itching to do some exercise for ages! And as I was tidying up I found my yoga matt, a support waistband, my dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance band and my work out gloves (those were bought for the bars at total warrior then left them at home) Read more
As I walked in I was greeted by one of my stoma nurses then further round I saw the other. I nearly didn’t recognise them not in their uniforms! Both of them looked lovely. Due to the high amount of people at the open day I didn’t get the chance to take photos.
Today was Cancer Research’s Race For Life 5K event in Middlesbrough. Since 2013 I have done it every year since (I was heavily pregnant that first year) with Ra-Ra. It’s like our thing, it’s great because I have watched her progress from tip toeing across the finish line, to walking and now running across the line. Now I can’t find one of me pregnant but that maybe a good thing! Read more
You have to go through it! I love the book We’re going on a bear hunt and that phrase went through my head as we had another three generation ladies day (sorry I keep putting that as Geordie the dog is a boy) this time we kept it local by going for a walk into Cliff Ridge Wood. Read more
So yesterday was my mam’s birthday. The original plan was to go round and do some painting and stuff. After a lovely early lunch of eggy bread, my mam decided she wanted to go to a beach. I mean it was a glorious day weather wise. So once my dad had had his lunch (he was on a lunch break from work) we set off to mine to get a ticket for sea life printed, Ra-Ra’s net/bucket and spade, coat in case it got cold. We are in England after all. Read more
