So since my beautiful Little Mister has been born my emotions regarding the events surrounding his birth have paled in comparison to how happy both 00Steve and myself are. It still isn’t easy to think about including removing my dressing and feeling like a piece of meat tied with butchers twine. This is apparently a normal way of finishing off a suture. Read more
It was supposed to have been one of the most beautiful days you can have; becoming a parent whether for the first time or not it is supposed to be a time of love and joy. Well unfortunately when my son Jacob came into the world that wasn’t exactly the case it was pretty damn traumatic. But I will start from the admission to put it into context. Read more
…In your medical teams. Right now I’m having a repeat of when I was pregnant with Ra-Ra but this time they don’t seem to be wanting to help me. The first time around my obstetrics/midwifery team was fairly small as it was a relatively small hospital, since then departments have been closed down and everything has pretty much been shifted to the hospital up the road who is part of the local trust. Now most people in my local area or at least my hometown don’t have much faith in the bigger hospital and I’ve been witness to this both with colorectal and now obstetrics. Read more
So a lot of women have the dilemma of what do they take to the hospital for the birth of their baby. Now it’s definitely easier after you have done it before, but what about when you are having a caesarean? or if you have a stoma or like me both! Well as I have had a caesarean before and took far too much stuff for the fact I was in for two nights I have a better idea this time round. I will only really be going into detail about the stuff for me because any list for baby you can find on the internet will be pretty much what I would write…vests, an outfit or two, a blanket, a soft toy that sort of thing. So as everyone knows by now I am pregnant, 31 weeks to be exact. Last week I had a scheduled visit from a Health Visitor, that I genuinely forgot about! So cue me answering the door in my dressing gown, hair tied up from the night before and more than likely make up all over my face! But the health visitor Amy didn’t bat an eyelid at me looking like a tramp or my messy house. She just smiled and asked if I wanted her to come back another time. I just thought it’s probably best her seeing me like this so she is under no illusions when she comes to see me when Button is here. So this post is another super honest post about feelings and shiz, but ultimately why you should be honest with your health visitor because they aren’t all doom and gloom like they are portrayed in the media. Now this is a story all about how my my day got flipped turned upside down and I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there. I’ll tell you how I got wrapped up in despair. I was admitted to hospital last week and for me it was a pretty scary experience. Read more
So I decided that I should maybe do another post on where I am at with my pregnancy; be warned it wont be a short read and I am very honest in my posts. I feel I should add a little disclaimer that these are my personal experiences and every pregnancy is different, What I am going through in this pregnancy may not relate to you or even be something you ever will!
*Spoiler alerts* if you don’t want to know what the gender of Baby Button is read no further!
I thought I would give everyone a little update on how my pregnancy and baby Button is going and a little insight into why I haven’t been posting regularly.
