I’m punk rock ostomate mum and wife. I’m lewd, crewd, tattooed and totally prepared to take the taboo out of poo!
Please follow me on my journey back to health from the clutches of the dreaded Ulcerative Colitis, since receiving my ileostomy! I want to raise awareness that with an ostomy you can get pregnant, you can feel and be sexy, you can eat vegetarian or vegan foods and that you can live a normal life with an ostomy.
I have had my ileostomy now for 3 years and it really was the best decision of my life. It has enabled me to become pregnant again, travel we went to Paris in 2018! Plus the best bit be as pain free as I was ever going to be which compared to before is amazing.
I am a lover of anything Sherlock although I just love crime dramas think Castle, Criminal Minds, The Closer, New Tricks etc. Punk Rock, Pop Punk, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Horrorbilly, Nu-metal, Hair Metal, Grunge and industrial with a healthy dose of brit pop mixed in is usually blaring through my speakers. Music helps me through my bad days no matter the reason.
I’m married to my lovely Steven aka 00Steve, we have a sneaky cheeky tinker of a daughter called Lyra-Beth also known as Ra-Ra who is now at school and our newest addition since having my ileostomy, Jacob also currently known as Button on the blog but at home known as Handsome Pants. Ra-Ra was conceived whilst I had my JPouch and un-diagnosed pouchitis. We live in the beautiful tourist village of Great Ayton in God’s own county North Yorkshire.
I’m pretty excited that each and every one of my readers has enabled me to become a blogger for Comfizz and a resident blogger for Securicare in 2017 and still going strong. From there I co-hosted The IBD and Ostomy Support Show for nearly 2 years which is a YouTube show made by ostomates for ostomates and sufferers of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I have been to The Pelican Healthcare ostomy headquarters and factory in Cardiff (2016) I have done a BBC Radio Scotland show talking about body image and ostomies. I have been featured in both a Stomawise (2017) and Purple Wings Charity (2018) ostomy calendar. I was lucky enough to be the Halloween model for Jasmine Stacey Collection in (2017) I was the patient advocate for Peak Medical LTD at 2018’s Annual Stoma Nurse Convention (ASCN) I am due to do some talks and videos in the next couple of months.
Work with me! I have done both collaborations and sponsored work and I am happy to talk about how we can work together please email – firstname.lastname@example.org
