With day 21 of the ostoMYlove challenge it was cook don’t chuck and it kicked me into gear to make courgette chips which I decided to think ahead a wee bit and use it for a post in my Meatless Monday series. These posts maybe sporadic but as long as I remember to take photos of my food then it should end up more frequent *insert see no evil monkey emoji lol* Read more

So I get a few comments or raised eyebrows over what I can and can’t eat. I eat predominantly a vegetarian/vegan diet but I do still on occasion eat meat and this is usually limited to white meat. I don’t have this diet for any particular animal rights or even strict dietary requirements. I am not overly keen on red meats, this may have something to do with it irritatating my Ulcerative Colitis but now I just don’t really care for it unless it is in a tomato based pasta dish. I just prefer eating vegetarian foods and because I still have some mild very mild intolerances to dairy I often eat vegan unless it is cheese, cheese has never done me any harm so I won’t give it up! Yep we all have times when our output/stool/poop whatever you like to call it doesn’t want to play ball and goes super liquidy. You don’t always want to take loperamide or just can’t seem to take enough to make a difference. With an ileostomy I know a lot of people worry about eating vegetables and salad for the risk of blockages or the fear that they may irritate their IBD. Well I found recently that I can eat salad again or at least I’ve eaten it everyday this week and had no problems so far *touch wood*
So as promised I have written down the food I have eaten this week and I would definitely say its been better. Don’t get me wrong its not saintly but who the hell wants to live on salad leaves and air? Not me that’s for sure, but hopefully I will shed a few pounds by not filling my face with crap! Well and feel better in myself from not being overloaded from food with empty calories from fat and sugar like in the last diary.
With my impending Dietetics appointment on Tuesday I decided to note down everything I ate and drank unhealthy or not so I could have a thorough appointment. Because lets face it I have no idea what the appointment is even for!
So after years of having an awful relationship with food, I get very stroppy about not being able to eat what I want (most of the time swayed by TV! Damn my weak constitution) When my Ulcerative Colitis first started to flare up I was full swing with an eating disorder. Most people say oh that’s what triggered it. I still get immensely annoyed at this comment because it’s a genetic disease, I was destined to have the bloody thing. Read more
