Vegan/Vegetarian With An Ileostomy?

So I get a few comments or raised eyebrows over what I can and can’t eat. I eat predominantly a vegetarian/vegan diet but I do still on occasion eat meat and this is usually limited to white meat. I don’t have this diet for any particular animal rights or even strict dietary requirements. I am not overly keen on red meats, this may have something to do with it irritatating my Ulcerative Colitis but now I just don’t really care for it unless it is in a tomato based pasta dish. I just prefer eating vegetarian foods and because I still have some mild very mild intolerances to dairy I often eat vegan unless it is cheese, cheese has never done me any harm so I won’t give it up! I fought very hard to get to see a dietitian because I knew I really needed some help with my base diet so I can try and get healthier. So I went to see the dietitian yesterday and she was saying she is quite happy with my food variation but I can obviously do things to make it better and more well rounded, which will ultimately benefit me. As promised here are some of the meals I’ve been eating. Some have foods on the so called not allowed list but I’m eating with caution (except the quinoa I ate way more of that than I should in one go at least as I don’t digest that very well. So in future small amounts of that for me! Especially when they caused a bit of a leak due to pancaking – pancaking is where the output doesn’t fall down into the bag but stays around the stoma.
