So it is currently National Breastfeeding Week and it has been filling up my social media feeds constantly and of course that is a good thing! No mum should feel she can’t feed her child in public or have to hide away, especially not in a god damn toilet that infuriates me. It is completely natural albeit sometimes difficult thing for women to do. What I have liked about the posts some from my family and some from my friends is that every one struggles with something different! Be it the physical side or the mental side of breastfeeding. …In your medical teams. Right now I’m having a repeat of when I was pregnant with Ra-Ra but this time they don’t seem to be wanting to help me. The first time around my obstetrics/midwifery team was fairly small as it was a relatively small hospital, since then departments have been closed down and everything has pretty much been shifted to the hospital up the road who is part of the local trust. So a lot of women have the dilemma of what do they take to the hospital for the birth of their baby. Now it’s definitely easier after you have done it before, but what about when you are having a caesarean? or if you have a stoma or like me both! Well as I have had a caesarean before and took far too much stuff for the fact I was in for two nights I have a better idea this time round. I will only really be going into detail about the stuff for me because any list for baby you can find on the internet will be pretty much what I would write…vests, an outfit or two, a blanket, a soft toy that sort of thing.
